We are committed to safeguard the privacy of our WhatsHalal App users and to build our App with a set of strong privacy principles in mind.
WhatsHalal receives or collects information when we operate our App, including when you install, access, or use our App.
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data:
(a) Information from your device and about your visits to and use of this App. We collect diagnostic, and personal information. This includes information about your activity such as your IP address, log files, website, performance logs, reports, crash, hardware model, operating system information, mobile network information, geographical location, browser information, referral source, length of visit and number of page views;
(b) information relating to any transactions carried out between you and us or other third parties processing your payment on or in relation to this App, including information relating to any purchases you make of our goods or services;
(c) information that you provide to us for the purpose of registering with us;
(d) Information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our App services;
(e) Information about your account. We collect information such as your profile name and photo, online status and status messages, your contacts and receipts may be available to anyone who uses our App. You can use your App settings and the block feature in our App to manage the users of our App with whom you communicate and certain information you share;
(f) Any other information that you choose to send to us.
You own all of the content and information you post on WhatsHalal, and you can control how it is shared through your App settings. For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your App settings, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with WhatsHalal. This ends when you delete your content or your account unless your content has been posted or shared by others, and they have not deleted it.
We may use your personal information to:
(a) administer the App;
(b) Improve your browsing experience by personalising the App;
(c) Enable your use of the services available on the App;
(d) Send you general communications;
(e) Send you notifications which you have specifically requested;
(f) Provide third parties with statistical information about our users - but this information will not be used to identify any individual user;
(g) Allow third party banner ads as a form of marketing and transaction;
(h) Allow you to communicate and transact with third party such as our commercial business partners;
(i) Provide customer support, and improving, fixing, and customizing our App. We will deal with enquiries and feedback made by or about you relating to the App;
(j) Work with third-party providers to help us operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our App;
(k) Use third-party services that are integrated with our App, they may receive information about what you share with them. If you interact with a third-party service linked through our App, you may be providing information directly to such third party. Please note that when you use third-party services, their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those services.
(a) To the extent that we are required to do so by law;
(b) In connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
(c) In order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);
(d) To the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset which we are (or are contemplating) selling.
We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure servers. All electronic transactions you make to or receive from us will be encrypted using SSL technology. However, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. We will not ask you for your password other than when you log in to the App.
You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Provision of such information may be subject to a fee. You may instruct us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes by using your account communications preferences at any time.
The App contains links to other Apps. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third party Apps.
We receive information other people provide us, which may include information about you. For example, when other users you know use our App, they may send you a message, send messages to groups to which you belong, or call you.
We work with third-party providers to help us operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our App. For example, we work with companies to distribute our apps, provide our infrastructure, delivery, and other systems, supply map and places information, process payments, help us understand how people use our App, and market our App.
We allow you to use our App in connection with third-party services. If you use our App with such third-party services, we may receive information about you from them. Please note that when you use third-party services, their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those services.
To report copyright infringement and request that WhatsHalal remove any infringing content it is hosting, please email a completed copyright infringement claim to [email protected]
Before you report a claim of copyright infringement, you may want to send a message to the relevant WhatsHalal user you believe may be infringing your copyright. You may be able to resolve the issue without contacting WhatsHalal.
To report trademark infringement and request that WhatsHalal remove any infringing content it is hosting, please email a complete trademark infringement claim to [email protected]
Before you report a claim of trademark infringement, you may want to send a message to the relevant WhatsHalal user you believe may be infringing your trademark. You may be able to resolve the issue without contacting WhatsHalal.
Please include all of the following information when reporting a copyright or trademark infringement claim:
(a) Your complete contact information (full name, email address, mailing address, and phone number). Note that we regularly provide your contact information, including your name and email address (if provided), the name of your organization or client who owns the rights in question, and the content of your report to the person whose content you are reporting. You may wish to provide a professional or business email address where you can be reached;
(b) A description of the copyrighted work or trademark that you claim has been infringed;
(c) A description of the content hosted on our App that you claim infringes your copyright or trademark;
(d) Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on our App;
(e) A declaration that:
You have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted or trademarked content described above, in the manner you have complained of, is not authorized by the copyright or trademark owner, its agent, or the law;
the information in your claim is accurate; and
you declare, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive copyright or trademark that is allegedly infringed
(f) Your electronic signature or physical signature.
Please note that we will only accept and act on notices in the English language that comply with this Terms of Service. Any notices that do not comply with the above will be rejected, and we will not take any action in relation to such rejected notices.
We may, under certain circumstances and without prior notice, at its sole discretion immediately terminate your account (if any). Cause for such termination shall include without limitation:
(a) Breaches or violations of the Terms of Service, Policy of Acceptable Use, or other incorporated documents, guidelines or rules;
(b) Request by law enforcement or other government agencies;
(c) Self-initiated account deletions;
(d) Infringement of intellectual property rights of others;
(e) Discontinuance or material modification to the services on the App, or part thereof;
(f) Unexpected technical or security issues or problems;
(g) Extended periods of inactivity.
Termination of your account shall result in:
(a) Removal of access to and barring of further use to all offerings of the App that are associated with such account;
(b) Deletion of your password and all related information, files and content associated with or inside your account (or part thereof);
(c) Termination of your account shall be without prejudice to any other rights or remedies we may be entitled to under the Terms of Service, at law or in equity and shall not affect any accrued rights or liabilities nor the coming into or continuance in force of any provision which is expressly or by implication intended to come into or continue in force on or after such termination.
If you would like to manage, change, limit, or delete your information, we allow you to do that through the following tools:
(a) You can change your App settings to manage certain information available to other users;
(b) You can manage your contacts, groups, or use our block feature to manage the users with whom you communicate;
(c) You can change your Profile Name and Picture, and Profile Message;
(d) You may delete your WhatsHalal account at any time (including if you want to revoke your consent to our use of your information). Please remember that when you delete your account, it does not affect the information other users have relating to you, such as their copy of the messages you sent them.
We reserve all intellectual property rights to the App and App Material, including international copyright and trade mark rights. All other names, products and marks mentioned are the intellectual property rights of their respective owners. No materials provided through the App, including text, graphics, code, ratings, rankings, databases, aggregated information, App Material and/or software may be reproduced, modified, adapted, distributed, published, displayed, uploaded, posted, transmitted or hyperlinked in any manner and in any form without our express, prior written approval, and the approval of the respective copyright and trade mark holders. The App and App Material are for your personal use only, and you may not engage in any dealings with other parties regarding such services and contents. Such dealings include commercial dealings and dealings which will adversely affect the commercial value of the App and App Material.
The Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and any claims or disputes of whatever nature shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of the Terms of Service is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavour to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Terms of Service remain in full force and effect.
Any account that you may have with us is not transferrable and any rights to such account will terminate upon your death. Upon receipt of a copy of your death certificate, your account will be terminated and all content that you have generated in your account will be permanently deleted.
All notifications to us pursuant to the Terms of Service shall be sent via our App contact form.
We may collect, use, preserve, and share your information if we have a good-faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:
(a) Respond pursuant to applicable law or regulations, to legal process, or to government requests;
(b) Enforce our Terms and any other applicable terms and policies, including for investigations of potential violations;
(c) Detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues;
(d) Protect the rights, property, and safety of our users.
